This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of concentration and application periods of CCC(Cycocel: 2-chloroethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride and B-9(Alar:N-dimethyl amino succinamic acid) on the growth behavior of Chrysanthemum morifolium (Hayasaki) in pot-culture at experimental field of Agricultural College, Chonnam National University in 1975.
The results are summarized as follows:
1) In case of B-9 and CCC foliar application, there was highly significant difference between the effects of the two growth regulators.
2) B-9 foliar application of 5 days after last pinching was conspicuously effective to retard the plant height compared with 15, 25 days after last pinching. CCC application of 15 days after last pinching was more effective to retard the plant height than that of 5, 25 days after last pinching.
3) B-9 and CCC application decreased the flower size, leaf area and dry weight respectively. But the malformed leaf, flower were not emergenced by the application of B-9 and CCC.
4) The foliage color with the application of B-9 and CCC were greener than that of the control.
5) B-9 was more effective than CCC when the concentration was increased. Adequate level, B-9 6,000ppm, was the most effective, and showed great dwarfing effects to increase their ornamental value.
